Singapore Banks Quarterly: 1Q12 Results Review (Part 2)
Exceptional loan growth unrepeatable for rest of year
Although loan growth is likely to slacken in 2H as demand for the RMB related trade loans has started to dwindle, overall loan growth for 2012 for the three local banks is likely to average in the low teens. Together with stabilizing or possibly widening margins, net interest income growth should still be healthy for 2012.
