Singapore Banks - 2013 Quarterly Review (Part 2)

Signs of NIMs stabilizing.

NIMs showing signs of bottoming but don’t expect a return to pre-crisis level. With the US FED tapering postponed to probably 1Q14, the prospect of a rise in NIMs is further delayed. However, any rise in NIIMs will be moderate as banks now have to contend with rising funding and liquidity costs.
